Radio & Online

I have broadcast online and on radio since 1990, commentating and reporting on Football League and Rugby Union matches and at high-profile sporting events such as The World Snooker Championship and The Wimbledon Tennis Championship for a variety of stations including Talksport and BBC regional radio.

From 1995-2000, I was lead commentator and manager of the England & Wales Cricket Board’s official premium rate commentary service, Rapid Cricketline, covering every domestic-based Test match during that period.

In 2001, I was appointed as Drivetime producer/co-presenter on the first 24-hour sports radio station, TEAMtalk 252, interviewing top names such as Kenny Dalglish live on air.

Television

I worked for ITV at Rugby World Cup 2015 as a member of the statistics/graphics production team, compiling comprehensive match information packs for the presenters and commentators while dealing with any queries on matchdays before, during and after games.

This role has been extended to include the 2016 RBS Six Nations.

I have appeared on ITV News and At The Races Get On! betting programme to talk about the big topics in Rugby Union.

Former England international and highly-respected TV presenter David Flatman

Jon has been a go-to source of well-researched, accurate news and opinion of mine for a long time. His ability to see through superfluous irrelevance and to cut to the matter reveals him as a journalist who genuinely understands both his craft and the sport of rugby union.

Jon’s ability to combine the nerdy (but priceless) fact-finder – and I say this as a compliment – and the clever, charismatic writer probably makes him unique in his field.

Oh, and he’s a top bloke, which helps.
